If you are shortstack, again, gamble on a high flop, you may as well put your game on the line and push. You will either steal the pot or take your chance on the flop. There's no point being blinded out of a tournament.
When you are playing against cagey players, it is always good to keep them thinking by mixing your play occasionally.With a low hand, they may expect a raise but by raising with your high hand you will giving them mixed signals.
